Online Entry Phase
July 31, 2024 to September 2, 2024: Participants must submit two cocktail recipes reflecting The Macallan's legacy: the "Past" and "Present".

Semi-Final Phase
September 10, 2024: Announcement of twenty (20) semi-finalists selected to advance to the semi-final round.
September 17, 2024: Twenty mixologists will proceed to refine their creations with judges' guidance during the Creative Collective session.
September 18, 2024 to October 17, 2024: Each contender will showcase their crafted cocktails in their respective bars for a month, promoting them to patrons. During this time, judges will visit all participating bars to evaluate the cocktails.

Final Phase
October 29, 2024: Top five (5) mixologists will compete live before the judges in the final round. Mixologists will craft a new cocktail embodying The Macallan’s “Future”, employing innovative mixology techniques that promote sustainability and benefit society and the community.

Unfortunately, you must be actively working full-time as a bartender or a mixologist in a Hong Kong or Macau establishment to participate.

You can only submit two (2) cocktail recipes that represent The Macallan's "Past" and "Present” categories. If you advance to the final round, you will be tasked with creating one (1) cocktail recipe that represents The Macallan’s “Future”.

Once you submit your entry, editing is no longer allowed. However, if you need to make amendments, provide additional information, or seek guidance on completing your entry, feel free to email us at info@journeythroughtimehk.com

You can email info@journeythroughtimehk.com to inform the competition organisers about changes in your bar representation.

Your submission will be subject to a blind tasting by the panel of judges in order to select the top 20 semi-finalists. You can view the full judging criteria here.

Yes, you will have the opportunity to adjust your creation based on judges’ feedback during the Creative Collective session.
